Hello, my name is Boris Dörning. I´m a lens based artist and motion designer.

 

Graduated with diploma in Visual Communication at HfG Offenbach with the majors Film / Video, class of Prof. Rotraut Pape and Theory of Perception in the class Prof. Dr. Hans Zitko.

 

My artistic approach is rooted in the idea of exploring the seemingly banal. I´m particularly interested in raising awareness of the urban spaces and architecture through which we move every day. I usually focus on fragments. My intention is to archive, analyze and critically reflect on the lived reality. The challenge here is to look beyond the distraction of the obvious and grasp what is unique. First I decontextualize. Then I reconstruct. My artistic practice includes a wide range of media, including photography, video and animation, but also music and sound.

 

Currently employed at denkwerk as Teamlead Motion Designer.
